We got caught

eta-carinaeMar 15, 8:23am
Earlier today the cops came into my friend's house to find his dad (a fugitive), but we had a pipe laying out. The cop found the plants he was trying to grow. Another friend and I were allowed to go free. My friend is in jail now and I can't bail him out because I don't even know if I can. I know nothing about the situation. Can someone inform me what is going to happen to him/what I can do? He is sixteen years old and neither of his parents can get him out if he can even get out. Please help and soon.

Owch. I wish I could help more... try getting a hold of a pro-hemp lawyer, N.O.R.M.L. can help you with that - norml.org/index.cfm [norml.org/index.cfm]

I hope your friend gets out soon.

he was let out on bail today. He's getting probation and he's going to be alright, but he won't be able to smoke for a while.

Here is a list of recent events:

1: my friend got busted.
2: I defended my beliefs about marijuana for the first time against my father (a law enforcement officer).
3: I found out that my mom has been secretly smoking with my brother (much lols)
4: My friend and I broke into an abandoned factory with a can of spray paint
5: I was speeding past a cop, he turned around, I drove into someone's driveway and hid behind their car, and after a while got back on the street and passed the cop again, speeding, he turned around again, and I got away.
6: We bought a pack of cigarettes from a gas station w/o a license
7: I am going to get acid tomorrow (my first hallucinogen!)
8: argued with my dad again tonight and now I'm going to run away later tonight to live as a vagabond

I plan on going dumpster diving or shoplifting for the first time tonight. I'm pretty surprised that in two days only one person has offered to help me, so thanks AlternaDad. goodbye all.

Anytime, friend. Sounds like an exciting couple of days. I wish you all the best on your upcoming trip. Life only truly begins after your first hit of acid... Be well, and take care of yourself.

My friend just called me. He told me he is looking at two felony charges and a lot of misdemeanors. He told me that the cops never read him his Miranda rights, they flat out lied and said that he had two sets of scales (they are attempting to try him as a big-time drug dealer), and they only had a warrant to arrest his dad, not a search warrant. I was wrong before; he could be looking at several years if things don't go the right way, but he said that he might be able to get off easier because of what the cops did. He has an extremely rich family member that is going to get the best lawyer they can, so hopefully he will be alright, but things are still up in the air.

I'm curious if anyone facing criminal charges for partaking of cannabis ever tried to have sentence dropped or reduced because punishment was "cruel and unusual"? If you have any good information or wish to discuss this, please reply or private message me.

Toke on friends!

Some of that life, liberty and pursuit of a good high stuff.

in Michigan . unless you invited them in. they had to have a warrant. correct ? ok find out what the warrant was for was it for the father.? if so even though they found, pipe,s plants ect . all other evidence . is inadmissible in a court of law .again if they only had a warrant for the father . if they had one for a drug search . well you need a lawyer !! legba

Inadmissible? They don't have to ignore any illegal activities or property found during a warrented search. Anything else produced other than the suspect is gravy.

"...the person under arrest and the immediately surrounding area are subject to search."

Now, if the pipe were in your friends pocket instead of laying out, the plants were in a locked room and the father produced himself when served with the warrant, than things could have been different.

"...nor may they search without probable cause other parties who happen to be in a place also occupied by a suspect"
